  • my respect and gratitude

Hi! I just wanted to express my respect and gratitude to Yrii for providing the software for my 2007 Outback LR with the 253 engine.

I was recommended to Yrii by a long-time acquaintance, Andrei (oppozy), who is an excellent motorist in our Subaru community here in Irkutsk. I had been searching for a good tuner for a while now. Before Yrii’s software, I tried calibrations from several people and well-known companies, but I wasn’t satisfied. They all had some flaws and issues in the settings. The last one I tried (I won’t mention the company’s name) had an issue with the engine and automatic transmission (AT) synchronization. The AT would jerk during shifts, and the RPM would drop by 200-250 and then recover half a second later. It was really frustrating. I even replaced the AT with a used one, but nothing changed (I regret wasting money on that, as it turns out my old AT was still in excellent condition with only 190k mileage). I discussed the problems and desires for Subaru tuning with Andrei, and he suggested going to Yrii. He recommended testing and logging different operating modes to see what Yrii could offer.

Yrii offered a software with the software-based EGR disabled, catalyst control disabled, and a slight tune to make the car more enjoyable to drive. We agreed on a specific time, and I asked him to add a small tune to set the XX level of engine performance at 700 RPM (those who drive with AT should understand that at the stock 650-620 RPM, the AT puts a heavy load on the engine and it feels unpleasantly jerky, especially when the air conditioning is on). When everything was ready, we flashed the software, disabled unnecessary sensors, and started the car… The first thing I noticed with the new software was a different engine sound… It sounded more lively and quieter, with a subdued bass. We checked the operating parameters, and everything was working perfectly, with no check engine lights or parameters going out of range. I agreed with Andrei to drive around throughout the day and log the engine and system performance in different modes. While logging, I was amazed that I got exactly the settings and calibrations I wanted from other tuners… On the first try, I swear!

The engine became more dynamic, and the power delivery up to 3500 RPM felt smoother. The throttle response was like the good old mechanical cable type – you press the pedal and off you go. No more annoying delay like on the stock electronic throttle, where you press and wait for 1-2 seconds before the car responds. The first thing I noticed while driving was that the AT was no longer jerking. It’s not a CVT, of course, but it no longer feels like there’s a pack of worn-out friction discs in the tail of the transmission with a 5mm gap, being hammered with a sledgehammer. Everything is precise, smooth, and consistent, most importantly, it feels reasonable. The engine performance is excellent, it runs smoothly without any misfires or shaking, and when the air conditioning is on, the RPM doesn’t drop to the bottom and fluctuate. Overall, it’s become a pleasure to drive now.

PS: The exhaust no longer stinks, and the condensate flows properly from the mufflers =) I highly recommend Yrii, and once again, a huge thanks to Andrei for helping me connect with an excellent tuner.
